Christ the Redeemer praises God with the help of Evangelical Lutheran Worship. The book contains a variety of worship services (known to us as liturgies), as well as hymns. Our gatherings are a blend of traditional and modern words and music, lasting a little more than an hour. Children and adults are welcome.

Like other Christian denominations we believe that our lives as God’s children begin in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. By water and the Word of God people of all ages are able to become God’s own sons and daughters. The pastor normally meets once with the parents of infants and young children to prepare for this sacred event, and offers a series of classes for teenagers and adults hoping to be joined to Christ.

We celebrate Holy Communion (also known as the Lord’s Supper, or Eucharist) most Sunday mornings. Here we believe that bread and wine become the means by which Jesus - raised from the dead - continues to live within us. Sin is forgiven, faith is revived, and an eternity with God is assured. It is our practice to welcome all Baptised Christians to the table of Holy Communion.

Those who desire to be married at Christ the Redeemer are encouraged to speak to the pastor early in the planning process. Six months’ notice is required, so that time can be set aside to discuss communication and decision-making skills, and to design a meaningful order of service.

The pastor of the congregation conducts funerals at the church building and at other locations. Two days’ will allow time for planning and pastoral care. Funerals do not praise the virtues of the deceased, but allow us to commend our loved ones to God’s care and keeping.
